World Vegan Day is an annual event celebrated by vegans around the world every 1 November.

The event was established in 1994 by Louise Wallis, then Chair of The Vegan Society in the United Kingdom, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the organisation and the coining of the terms “vegan” and “veganism”.

Vegan or Vegetarian – What’s the difference?
The primary difference between vegans and vegetarians is that vegetarians only avoid meat, while vegans avoid all animal-sourced products including eggs, honey, and dairy.

Because vegans have a more limited diet, they are more susceptible to certain nutritional deficiencies than vegetarians and must be sure to include B-vitamins, iron, Vitamin D, calcium, and protein in their diet.
