1 Large onion sliced
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup Tomato paste
1 tsp Paprika
2-3 Bay leaves

For the sardines
¾ cups Water
1 kg fresh sardines
¼ tsp Chilli Flakes

Method
Place a large pan on medium-high heat and add oil to it. Then, add the chopped garlic cloves and sliced onions to it. Let it cook for 2 minutes until the onions start to turn golden. Then, add the tomato paste to the pan and season it with salt and pepper. Mix everything together. To spice it up, add paprika and bay leaves to the tomato sauce. Then, add water to the pan and turn the flame to low.

Add the sardines and chilli flakes to the tomato sauce and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
