The Winning Recipe
The Bombay Ice Tea | Anu Mukherjee (IG-blazingbolt)
Gin is one of the most versatile spirits and thanks to the many botanicals, we can make a myriad of cocktails. “The Bombay Ice Tea” is my version of using this incredible spirit and giving it a Desi Twist.
Ingredients
50ml of Bombay Sapphire (or any good quality gin)
1 Twinnings – Lemon Ginger Teabag (or any lemon ginger tea)
15ml simple syrup
15ml ginger syrup
10ml lemon juice
10ml Cointreau (or any good quality orange liqueur)
Ice Cubes
Lemon wheel and Ginger candies for garnish
Directions
1. Start by brewing your tea; dip the teabag in 90ml of hot water and let it brew for 5 minutes.
2. Let it cool for a few minutes (you can add a few ice cubes to accelerate the process).
3. Next, take a Boston Shaker and add 50ml Gin, 90ml iced tea, 15ml each of simple syrup & ginger syrup, 10ml of freshly squeezed lemon juice, 10ml of orange liquor and plenty of ice. 4.Give it a good shake and let all the ingredients mix thoroughly. Strain using a hawthorne strainer (any other strainer would also do) into a mason jar filled with ice cubes.
5. Garnish with a lemon wheel and ginger candies on a fancy toothpick.
